Chenla

Chenla is a display typeface family with a single regular weight and a normal style, shaped for attention rather than long reading. Its limited range makes it straightforward to use when you want one consistent voice across a layout. Because it is available in the Khmer subset, Chenla is suited to Khmer-language typography where a distinctive headline presence is needed. The family’s display classification suggests a more expressive, characterful texture than text faces, giving titles and short phrases a clear visual emphasis without offering broad stylistic variation.

Chenla works well for posters, section headings, banners, and short promotional lines where a compact set of glyphs needs to carry the design. Since it comes only in 400 normal, it is best treated as a single-purpose accent rather than a flexible system face. Pair Chenla with a quieter supporting typeface that handles longer copy and information hierarchy, letting this family provide contrast at larger sizes.
